Block Earner

Borrow AUD against your Bitcoin, without selling it

Block Earner is a Sydney-based fintech that lets Australian businesses borrow Australian dollars against their Bitcoin, Ethereum or XRP. For a business holding Bitcoin as a treasury asset, that means working capital without triggering a sale of the underlying BTC.

Bitcoin-backed loans for businesses

  • Borrow from $50 up to $5 million AUD, settled to your business bank account within 24 hours of approval.
  • Business accounts are open to companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders and family offices.
  • Two structures: a Line of Credit (fixed rate for 12 months) and a Fixed Term loan (up to 5 years, BTC and ETH only).
  • Loans go up to 50% LVR (loan-to-value ratio) with a 2% origination fee and no early repayment fees. Indicative rates start from 9.50% p.a. (Line of Credit) and 11.50% p.a. (Fixed Term), as at October 2026 and subject to credit assessment.
  • Business uses include working capital and cash flow, acquisitions, commercial property, equipment and debt refinancing.
  • Pre-approval is available before you send any crypto, so you know your borrowing limit upfront.

AUSTRAC registration

Block Earner is registered with AUSTRAC as a Virtual Asset Service Provider and Independent Remittance Provider (registration 100784590), so it operates under Australia’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regime.

Australian licensing

Credit is provided by Web3 Loans Pty Ltd (ACN 668 516 952) and managed by Web3 Ventures Pty Ltd trading as Block Earner (ACN 655 090 869), under Australian Credit Licence 542689. Block Earner has also been described as the first crypto-backed lending platform in Australia to hold an Australian Credit Licence. Customer crypto is held in Fireblocks custody, and the company reports ISO/IEC 27001 certification and a SOC 2 Type 1 attestation.

FinTech awards

Block Earner has won three FinTech Australia Finnies awards: Excellence in Blockchain/Distributed Ledger (2024), Excellence in Web3 (2025) and Excellence in Consumer Lending (2026). It has also won Finder Innovation Awards in 2025 and 2026, and WeMoney awards for lending. Block Earner notes that its awards recognise its full product suite, not the loans product specifically.

Before you apply: set up your ANZ account first

Open a bank account with ANZ before you start. ANZ is widely regarded as one of the more crypto-friendly major banks, and transfers to and from Block Earner tend to go through more smoothly there than at banks that delay, limit or block payments to crypto platforms. Block Earner needs a recent bank statement showing your business name, address and account details to verify a business account, and your loan funds are paid into that account, so this is worth sorting out first. Policies can change, so confirm with ANZ before you rely on this.

Know the risk

Your loan’s LVR moves with the Bitcoin price. If it rises too high, you will need to add Bitcoin or repay some of the loan. If you don’t act, Block Earner may sell part of your collateral to restore the loan to a healthy level. Credit is subject to approval, and fees and charges apply.
